What We Do
Deputy Commissioners conduct full evidentiary hearings across the State, hear certain administrative motions, conduct administrative appeal hearings, review complex form agreements, and review settlement agreements in cases pending before them. Following an evidentiary hearing, a Deputy Commissioner issues an Opinion & Award or Decision & Order, which contains detailed findings of fact and conclusions of law. Either or both parties may appeal a Deputy Commissioner decision to the Full Commission, so long as the appeal is timely made.
