Chair Philip A. Baddour, III designated Ashley M. Moore to serve as Chief Deputy Commissioner effective November 1, 2025.
Moore joined the Commission in 2015 as legal counsel to the Full Commission. In 2018, she was appointed to a first term as a Deputy Commissioner, during which time she not only adjudicated workers’ compensation claims but also helped develop the Commission’s contempt hearing procedures and presided over all contempt matters at the Deputy Commissioner level. Moore was reappointed to a second term as a Deputy Commissioner beginning September 3, 2024.
Moore also serves as the Commission’s Director of Claims Administration.
Moore earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. from the North Carolina Central University School of Law.
