The Industrial Commission adjudicates negligence (tort) claims departments, institutions, and agencies of the State of North Carolina. The statute governing these claims is the State Tort Claims Act. The Industrial Commission has adopted rules, known as the State Tort Claims Rules, which apply to State tort claims and which set forth Industrial Commission procedures and forms requirements related to its administration and adjudication of these claims.
