What We Do

The Information Technology (IT) Section promotes and supports the Industrial Commission's effective use of information technology hardware and software solutions to enable the Commission to fulfill all aspects of its operations.  The IT Section also provides technical support to the Industrial Commission’s internal and external users. 

External users who need technical support with the Commission’s Online Services Center, including help with filing documents and paying invoices, should email the IT Section at support@ic.nc.gov.

The Information Technology Section has the following responsibilities:

• Developing plans and procedures for technical and operational processes
• Developing software programs and upgrades
• Maintaining agency software applications
• Managing software licenses
• Maintaining and upgrading onsite hardware
• Administering databases
• Managing data security and access
• Providing technology training
• Providing internal end-user support for hardware, software and network issues
