Thomas H. Perlungher was appointed as a Deputy Commissioner in 2015, and he was reappointed to a second term as a Deputy Commissioner effective February 1, 2022. Prior to becoming a Deputy Commissioner, Perlungher had served the Industrial Commission as a Full Commission Law Clerk.
Before joining the Industrial Commission, Perlungher was a Hearing Officer at the Division of Employment Security. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in North Carolina's 8th District from 2004 to 2008, where he prosecuted cases in Wayne, Lenoir, and Greene counties. Perlungher practiced Real Estate law in Massachusetts from 2002 to 2004.
Perlungher is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Vermont, and he earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2002.
