Maximum Weekly Benefit for 2012 |
The North Carolina Industrial Commission has established the maximum weekly benefit for 2012 pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §97-29. Effective January 1, 2012, the maximum weekly benefit applicable to all injuries and claims arising on and after January 1, 2012 shall be eight hundred and sixty-two dollars ($862.00).
The maximum weekly benefit was derived by multiplying the average weekly insured wage of seven hundred and eighty-four dollars and thirty-seven cents ($784.37) for the calendar year 2010, as determined by the Employment Security Commission in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. §96-8(22), by 1.10 and rounding the figure to its nearest multiple of two dollars ($2.00).
The minimum weekly benefit is thirty dollars ($30.00) as set forth in N.C. Gen. Stat. §97-29.
