Josh D. Smith Appointed to Serve as Deputy Commissioner

The Industrial Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh D. Smith to serve as a Deputy Commissioner. He will be assigned to the Industrial Commission’s Raleigh office. 

A North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in workers’ compensation law, Smith brings comprehensive, well-rounded knowledge to the Commission, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in workers’ compensation litigation for over ten years. He also has experience representing Social Security Disability claimants at administrative law hearings.

Smith earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and his J.D. from Elon University School of Law.
