Brad A. Salmon was appointed to serve as a Deputy Commissioner beginning June 9, 2025.
Salmon brings significant judicial experience to the Industrial Commission, having previously served as a District Court Judge, first in Judicial District 11 and then in Judicial District 12, and having previously served as a Magistrate in Lee County.
Salmon’s past public service also includes his membership in the North Carolina House of Representatives, where he represented District 51 during the 2015-2016 Session. During his time in the legislature, Salmon served on several important committees, including Judiciary II; Appropriations; Appropriations on Justice and Public Safety; Agriculture; and Children, Youth and Families.
Prior to becoming a District Court Judge, Salmon practiced law at The Salmon Law Firm, LLP (formerly Salmon & Gilmore, LLP) for nine years. Salmon earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and his law degree from Campbell University.
