Special Notice
Please Read Carefully
The Industrial Commission is currently experiencing problems with its computer systems. Therefore, it is highly recommended that counsel and parties should submit requests for continuances, removals and potential additions by email transmission to this email address only: gheen@ind.commerce.state.nc.us. We strongly prefer receiving requests by email without follow up letters. We request that the stated reasons be made briefly and entirely within the body of the email. Sending requests as attachments to emails are discouraged unless absolutely necessary.
*** Do not send email correspondence to Ms. Anne Brannen. ***
Ms. Brannen was involved in a car/deer accident and remains out for an undefined period of time.
If facsimile transmission must be used, requests for continuances, removal and potential additions made by facsimile transmission should be sent to this fax number only and to my attention:919-715-2007
Effective today, the final docket of workers’ compensation cases for docketing in March 2007 are posted on our website at http://www.ic.nc.gov//. The link to the March list of cases is located on the front page of the Industrial Commission’s website, identified as “Master List of Cases For Docketing, March 2007, by Deputy Commissioner Section” (located below the section “Bankruptcies, Liquidations and Rehabilitations”). Cases for docketing in March 2007 are posted by Region/IC File Number, Alpha Plaintiff, and Alpha Defendant.
*** Docketing Process ***
Cases will be assigned to the Deputy Commissioners beginning Friday, January 19, 2007. Therefore, it is critical that the trial bar review the “Final Master List of Cases for Docketing in March 2007” prior to January 19, 2007 to ensure their cases appear on the docket and to eliminate hearing cost charges for removals and continuances.
All requests should include the reason for the request with a copy to opposing counsel or the pro se party. If the case is still in mediation or should be mediated, please note this fact specifically.
Trial counsel are reminded that ANY case anticipated to require four or more hours for hearing is considered a “special set.” The Deputy Commissioner Section schedules “special set” cases on individual dockets to accommodate anticipated length of hearing. Counsel should review the cases posted and identify those cases that qualify as a “special set.” Immediately contact my office by email, including the anticipated length of hearing, in order to properly schedule these cases.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
I remain in your service.
