Form 19 via EDI
EDI, Electronic Data Interchange, allows the exchange of data between two computer systems where each computer system must present the data in a standardized format known to the other system. The North Carolina Industrial Commission uses EDI to exchange First Report of Injury (Form 19) information with Carriers and TPAs, who are known as Trading Partners.
With rare exception, all Form 19 records must be submitted via EDI.
Each Carrier or TPA needing to exchange data with the Industrial Commission must register to become a Trading Partner or contract with an EDI Vendor who becomes the registered Trading Partner.
Detailed information on the Industrial Commission’s implementation of EDI can be found here.
All EDI questions, including how to become a Trading Partner, must be submitted to ncicedi@ic.nc.gov.
