Official Disability Guidelines

According to its publisher, the Work-Loss Data Institute, the 1998 edition of Official Disability Guidelines™ (ODG) "provides actual experience data on lost work-time for all injuries and illnesses, as well as for different treatment modalities. It is based on a data base of over 3 million cases, supplemented by the experience of large corporate employers whose medical directors serve on the Editorial Advisory Board. As a fair, unbiased standard, Official Disability Guidelines can be used to control the indemnity costs of workers compensation while ensuring that the best interests of workers are being maintained."

The ODG data base includes data on disability durations compiled by three different U.S. government agencies: the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the National Hospital Discharge Survey (NHDS).
