RE: | Maximum Weekly Benefit for 2005 |
The North Carolina Industrial Commission has established the maximum
weekly benefit for 2005 pursuant to N.C.
Gen. Stat. §97-29. Effective
January 1, 2005, the maximum weekly benefit applicable to all injuries and
claims arising on and after January 1, 2005 shall be seven hundred and four
dollars ($704.00).
The maximum weekly benefit was derived by multiplying the average weekly
insured wage of six hundred and forty dollars and forty-three cents ($640.43)
for the calendar year 2003, as determined by the Employment Security Commission
in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. §96-8(22), by 1.10 and rounding the figure
to its nearest multiple of two dollars ($2.00).
The minimum weekly benefit is thirty dollars ($30.00) as set forth in N.C.
Gen. Stat. §97-29.
