The North Carolina Industrial Commission has established the maximum weekly benefit for 2003 pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §97-29. Effective January 1, 2003, the maximum weekly benefit applicable to all injuries and claims arising on and after January 1, 2003 shall be six hundred and seventy-four dollars ($674.00).
The maximum weekly benefit was derived by multiplying the average weekly insured wage of five hundred and ninety-four dollars and seventy-one cents ($612.03) for the calendar year 2001, as determined by the Employment Security Commission in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. §96-8(22), by 1.10 and rounding the figure to its nearest multiple of two dollars ($2.00).
The minimum weekly benefit is thirty dollars ($30.00) as set forth in N.C. Gen. Stat. §97-29.
