At the recent Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) convention in San Diego, CA, Leonard T. Jernigan, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, was elected Chairman of the Workers' Compensation and Workplace Injury Section. Todd O'Malley of Scranton, PA, Steve Birnbaum of San Francisco, CA, and Esther Weissman of Cleveland, OH, were elected Vice-Chairs.
ATLA is a broad-based international coalition of attorneys, judges, law professors, paralegals, and law students. As the world's largest trial bar (with approximately 60,000 members worldwide), ATLA attempts to promote justice and fairness for injured persons, safeguards victims' rights, and strengthens the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to public health and safety.
