Industrial Commission
The North Carolina Industrial Commission published a "Notice of Rule-Making by the North Carolina Industrial Commission to Revise and Update the Existing Workers’ Compensation Rules" in Lawyer’s Weekly from 10 January 2000 through 7 February 2000, and on the Industrial Commission’s web site continuously from 10 January 2000, through 11 February 2000.
Pursuant to the Notice, a Public Hearing was held on 11 February 2000, in the hearing room of the Archdale Building in Raleigh, NC., attended by all the Full Commissioners of the Industrial Commission. Attorneys Kirk D. Kuhns, Thomas M. Morrow, Bruce A. Hamilton, H. Randolph Sumner, William H. Borden, and Richard M. Lewis appeared on behalf of the practicing bar and offered comments when invited to do so at the Public Hearing. The record of the Public Hearing was held open for written comments through the close of business on 18 February 2000.
After careful review of the record, the Commission adopts the following:
Workers’ Compensation Rules (see attachment)
The Workers’ Compensation Rules shall become effective 1 June 2000.
The Industrial Commission takes this action pursuant to Section 97-80(a) of the North Carolina General Statutes.
