DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The primary purpose of the Help Desk Assistant positions is to be responsive to all calls from users reporting problems related to any aspect of the Industrial Commission’s computer operations with a primary focus on the Electronic Document Management System. The Help Desk Assistant will log and track all calls, and resolve them either directly or through soliciting second level support from other members of the IS organizations. The Help Desk Assistant will maintain, update, and generate reports from the helpdesk software and other databases maintained by the Industrial Commission. The responsibilities of this position include communicating with the user community and with vendors and providing regular and ad hoc reports to managers within the North Carolina Industrial Commission.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school and three years of experience in the use of computing and information technology resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A general familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Office as well as other specific knowledge of particular software used by the Industrial Commission is useful and familiarity with EDMS software is helpful.
