As you are well aware, the current economic times have significantly impacted both private industry and governmental employers and employees.   State government has faced an unprecedented revenue shortfall and has had to reduce funding and services.

In response to the large-scale outpouring of support and documented reduction in accidents, claims and costs from clients utilizing Safety Section consultative services, the North Carolina legislature has allowed the Safety Section to continue in its 80 year history of service through the enactment of a reasonable fee-for-service program.

Beginning December 1, 2009, the Safety Section will be required to collect a reasonable fee for services pursuant to the Appropriations Act of 2009, Section 14.8, General Statute Section 97-73.  To view a schedule of fees please refer to the Quick Links to the right.
 
The fees have been established in three general categories:
 
1) Per Person Specialty Courses/Workshops

2) Flat-Rate Full Day or Half Day Services once per month for 12 months

3) Hourly Blocks of Time for As Needed Training Services.  

All fees represent very competitive rates when compared to other internal or external training options.

The Safety Section services will continue to be provided on the topic, time and place of the employers' choosing. 

Specialty workshops in subjects, such as, CPR/AED/First Aid, Basic & Advanced Accident Prevention Certificate Programs and Water/Wastewater Safety will continue to be held at convenient off-site locations.

The Safety Section remains committed to providing industry and government with effective and efficient training/consultative services at a very reasonable cost.
