HUNT REAPPOINTS BUNN TO CHAIR NORTH CAROLINA INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION
RaleighGov. Hunt recently reappointed J. Howard Bunn Jr. of Raleigh to serve as the Chairman of the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
The North Carolina Industrial Commission is charged with carrying out the provisions of the Workers' Compensation Act and also administers the Death Benefits Act, the Tort Claim Act, and the Childhood Vaccine-Related Injury Compensation Program. The Commission has seven members, all appointed by the Governor, who serve six-year terms.
Bunn was first appointed to the Commission in 1993. He is also involved with the Duke University Medical Conference on Workers' Compensation, and serves on the executive committee of the Southern Association of Workers' Compensation Administrators. Bunn has previously served as the co-director and co-founder of the Annual National Symposium on Workers' Compensation and is the 1987 recipient of the President's Award from the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions.
