SUBJECT: Cost Changes

The North Carolina Industrial Commission has adopted changes in some of the costs for administering workers’ compensation cases. Please note the cost changes outlined in the attached Minutes.

Cost changes for Compromise Settlement Agreements and Third Party Distribution Orders are effective March 13, 2000.

A new fee for Form 24 Administrative Decisions & Orders will be effective April 3, 2000.

These cost changes are the result of unanticipated agency budget cuts resulting from emergency relief provided by the state to victims of Hurricane Floyd. The Commission anticipates that the cost changes for Compromise Settlement Agreements and Third Party Distribution Orders will be temporary. The Commission reviews all costs annually.

Effective March 13, 2000 the following fees will increase as stated below:

NEW COST
          Approval of a Compromise Settlement Agreement $200.00
          Third Party Distribution Order $200.00

 

Effective April 3, 2000 the following new fee will be implemented:

NEW COST
          Form 24 Administrative Decision & Order $60.00
