Research has shown that workers with significant social and emotional stressors, difficult relationships at work, and low job satisfaction have higher rates of work injury and more problems in recovery from work injury than other employees. You will learn to identify high risk employees, utilize appropriate interventions and effectively access professional and community resources that can help reduce risk for injury. Effective communication techniques to improve relationships with "troubled employees" and skills needed to make supportive, non-threatening referrals for services will also be reviewed.
