Office of Information Technology Services to Oversee
Industrial Commission Technology Infrastructure

The Industrial Commission has asked the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) to operate the agency’s information technology infrastructure. As a result, the Commission will be part of the next phase of a statewide IT consolidation.

The Commission believes this agreement will help the agency move toward a more efficient and reliable IT infrastructure.

ITS will establish and maintain appropriate networking, hosting of servers, security, back-up and operational environments to meet the business needs of the Commission. The Commission will maintain the applications that are used to deliver workers’ compensation and other services.

With ITS operating the “nuts and bolts” of our information technology, the Commission can devote its resources to developing applications to better serve the public and claimants, insurers and attorneys involved in the workers compensation system. In addition, economy of scale and efficiencies of operation will result in long-range savings for the state.
