Summary of Workers Comp Experience
Mr. McGraw holds an "A-V Preeminent” rating, which is the highest legal rating established by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. McGraw has been awarded the honor of North Carolina Super Lawyer for eight (8) consecutive years based upon peer review and professional achievement. He has also been selected as one of the top 100 lawyers in North Carolina. He practices primarily in the areas of dispute resolution and workers' compensation. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Post Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (1984). He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law (1989) where he was awarded the highest honor for Trial Practice. Mr. McGraw is a certified mediator, having received his training at the Duke University Private Adjudication Center. He is certified to mediate cases before the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, United States District Court, N.C. Superior Court, and the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Mr. McGraw is a member of the Gaston County, North Carolina and American Bar Associations and the North Carolina State Bar. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States District Court for the N.C. Western and Middle District. He has authored and presented continuing legal education programs on various topics in the area of N.C. Workers' Compensation law. In addition to his professional activities, Mr. McGraw serves as counsel for the Board of Trustees of Gaston Christian School. He has also served on the North Carolina Workers' Compensation Section Council as Chair of the mediation and pro bono committees, on the Wake Forest School of Law Board of Visitors, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Gaston Christian School, Gaston County Bar Grievance Committee, and as the Judicial District Representative for the Gaston County Moot Court Competition.
